Services for children and young people
Next Generation Care (Essex) Limited is a small family run business that focuses on family ethics and values, supporting children in care towards a positive lifestyle where they feel happy, secure, loved, valued, heard and respected
We currently operate 3 Children’s homes in South-East Essex, all with a good Ofsted rating, with the aim of adding more in the future that demonstrate the ethos we wholeheartedly believe in. Our homes enable local young people in care to maintain vital community links, instead of being sent away to unfamiliar cities and towns across the UK.
Working with children and young people in care, on the edge of care or in support of leaving care, our homes and services are designed with young people at their very heart – that way we can ensure they are fit for purpose, offer the right support and achieve the best outcomes.
As the problems facing our young people change, we look at how we can adapt to their needs. We develop new services that are “sector firsts” and best practice for children’s social care.
We don’t expect to take the place of real family but hope our young people will feel at home, supporting with anything that we can do to make our residents feel more comfortable. Where it is within our power, we will always go that extra mile to help our children to get the best from their experiences with us.
We want to make a difference to the young people in our care - for them to learn, grow and be supported towards making informed choices about their future, whilst offering an environment in which they can take time to repair and move forward from any trauma-based experiences in their life.

Secure, nurturing bases
We never see residential care as a last resort. Our children’s homes provide secure, nurturing bases. Young people can feel safe, create happy memories and build life skills for independence.
We hope our young people can make the home feel like their home, we eat together, have fun together, learn together, discuss how we can support their views that will always be heard, and generally promote our family values.
Our young people can choose how to decorate their bedrooms, vote on house rules, activities and help pick, shop for and cook healthy meals each day. By empowering them to make decisions that directly affect their lives, they feel more at home and positive about engaging with staff.
Within the first couple of weeks of settling into their new home, we are hoping that any new young person will have developed a good relationship with at least one of us who will be their go-to person. That person can become their key worker if the child is happy with this and be there to listen to anything our young person may wish to talk about. We are all here to listen and consider this one of the most important parts of our role.

Our Aim
A home is more than just somewhere to live, and we hope that our young people see it as a safe space away from all the hustle and bustle of the world. We hope our residents feel comfortable and can unwind when needed, form some great relationships and share any concerns they may have. One of us is always around should anyone want to have a chat or support with anything.
We are committed to providing a safe, nurturing yet stimulating home with plenty of activities, resources and plans with only our young people in mind so we can make plenty of meaningful memories. We will offer stability to help with development, maintain respect, support with self-reliance, and self-care skills; in the hope that our young people will be able to make positive choices and decisions in the present and towards a future that is not masked by past traumas and eventual independence and adulthood.
